Beginning as a vintage shop in London’s vibrant Brick Lane area, I Dream of Wires is now a dedicated online store selling the best in vintage clothes, accessories, homeware and toys as well as their own I Dream of Wires fashion label.
For Winwood and Voss the vintage shop comes from a lifelong obsession with vintage clothes, out there fashion, strange design, crazy paintings, modernist furniture and random ornaments. With each contributing their own perculiar expertise – Winwood’s eye for 80s style is like no other, while Voss has a gift for spotting the very best old skool toys and classic menswear – I Dream Of Wires offers a treasure trove of top-end tat and unexpected pleasures.
Since opening at the beginning of 2008 I Dream of Wires has attracted a celebrity clientele including bands The Black Kids, The Feeling and The Teenagers, plus Peaches Geldof, Julien Barrett of The Mighty Boosh and 80’s pop legends Soibhan Farhey of Bananarama and Kevin Rowlands from Dexy’s Midnight Runners.
